There may hardly be a person, especially a woman, who is not conscious about having a glowing and clear skin. Dirt, dust and grime prove harmful for the delicate skin and leave traces of many skin problems like blackheads, acne, pimples and open pores.
There are many skincare products in the market that claim to take care of open pores. Nonetheless, most of the creams or lotions available are chemical based and are not suitable to all skin types. Thus, to take skincare in a natural way, home remedies prove safe and beneficial.
OPEN PORES TREATMENT AT HOME
One can take care of the skin and body in the most natural and harmless way, without any side effects. Open pore home remedies are better than any salon treatment. These can be performed very easily with some basic ingredients that can be readily found at home or available in the market.
The skincare routine for open pores is essentially divided in 4 steps.
1, Cleansing: Open pores are result of accumulation of excessive oil in the pores due to which the skin stretches and the pores expand. Hence, it is essential to cleanse the excessive oil from the skin. Remember, the cleansing process removes only the extra oil from the skin but retains the natural content that keeps the skin supple and soft.
The home cleansing routine is 2 teaspoons Fuller’s earth (multani mitti) and 1 teaspoon water. Make a paste and apply it evenly on face. Do not talk after that or make facial expressions, else the face mask cracks. Allow the pack to dry off completely and then gently wash it with water. Carefully pat the face dry, but do not rub it with towel. Fuller’s earth is a natural cleanser and helps to make skin soft.
- Toning: The second step involves toning. Now that the extra oil has been eliminated from the pores, they need to be toned to regain the shape. Dip 2 green tea bags in a cup full of warm water and let it remain for 10-15 minutes. Later, soak some cotton balls in the tea water and then dab them on the face gently. Green tea is a good anti-oxidant that helps to remove excess oil from the pores, clean them thoroughly and allow them to “breathe”. You can prepare these cotton balls, put them on a plate and refrigerate them for up to a month and use as required.
- Moisturizing: Every time you cleanse and tone your face, it is vital that you moisturize it to maintain the hydrated state to keep the skin soft and supple. The best home moisturizing ingredient is aloe vera gel. Apply it evenly on the face. Aloe vera assists in hydrating the skin, and makes a protective layer that prevents the skin from drying. For a glowing skin, it is important to keep the skin well hydrated at all times.
- Sun protection: People with oily skin need to be more careful while stepping outdoors in sun. Before you step out, it is advisable to massage a good sun screen lotion or cream at least 20 minutes in advance, to prevent from harsh UV sun rays. The sun screen prevents the facial oil from heating up and clogging the pores. Protect the face with a scarf or under a hat and avoid direct exposure to sun.
HOW TO CLOSE OPEN PORES ON FACE
Besides the home remedies, many prefer going to a dermatologist to treat the open pores. The dermatologist uses chemical peels and advises using products with retinol or retinoid as these are best sources of Vitamin A that is beneficial for the skin. A good cleaning regimen using products with salicylic or glycolic acid prove a great help too. Laser treatment also is used to close the open pores.
Thus, if you have an oily skin or a combination skin that can be prone to skin problems, then following these tips will aid in getting a clear and soft skin.
