Everything is good in the world if handled properly. Food can give us good health as long as we eat the same within the set limits and can become a poison when indulged in too much, the same thing applies to sexual pleasures. While food provides great pleasure to taste buds located in the tongue, men and women indulge in sex to satisfy their bodily thirst. But careless in sex can lead to the development of STI and STD, the Sexually Transmitted Infections leading to sexual diseases. In the article henceforth, we will be discussing important facts about STI symptoms, STI check, and STI screening. Along with STI, we will also mention the STDs or Sexually Transmitted Diseases, STD List as well as the symptoms of STD in women.

What is STI – Sexually Transmitted Infections?

STI is an infection that gets transmitted due to sexual contact. This infection may be transmitted via general sexual intercourse or during anal sex or oral sex or through making physical contact with any woman suffering from vaginal discharge.  One may also catch it from infected sperms discharged by men as well as through blood or saliva.

Some of the important and the most common STI leading to STDs are Gonorrhea, HIV/AIDS, Pubic lice, Chlamydia, Syphilis, Anal and Genital Warts, Genital Herpes, Trichomoniasis and Hepatitis B among the many others.

Some of the symptoms that show up in humans by Sexually Transmitted Infections are listed below

1. Pain felt in throat particularly after oral sex is an indication of an STI.

2. Abnormal as well as increased discharge from Vagina.

3. Sudden occurrence of Ulcers, blisters, and warts in the private parts.

4. Intolerable pain while having sexual intercourse.

5. Urinating in reduced quantities but increased frequency levels.

6. Vaginal itching and irritation.

7. High levels of blood loss immediately after a sexual intercourse or in between the period of two menstruations.

8. Stomach ache combined with fever.

STI and STD – STI check

If you have any of the above symptoms that occurred all of a sudden, do not hesitate to consult your physician or gynaecologist (in case of women) immediately. Sexually Transmitted Infections do not fade away all by themselves but require focussed treatment.

Request your Doctor to test your blood and especially the blood culture will let you know if you have been affected by any type of Sexually Transmitted infections.

Different methods are used to ascertain if a person has been infected with any of the Sexually Transmitted Infections. For instance, to find out if someone is infected with Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, a simple Urine sample or a swab of the genital area will help. To find out if a person is infected with HIV, a swab from the mouth and blood test will help ascertain the same. To ascertain if a person is infected with Genital Herpes, the blood taken from the arm of the person will help. Lab tests vary for each type of Sexually Transmitted Infections and a Doctor will be the right person to ascertain the type of test one needs to take depending upon the STI symptoms.

STD – Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually Transmitted Infections cause diseases that are referred to Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Only when there are symptoms does the medical field accept it as a disease. People can escape from becoming a prey to Sexually Transmitted Diseases if safe sex is practiced at all times.

Some of the diseases that fall under Sexually Transmitted Diseases category are given below.

  1. Chlamydia
  2. Hepatitis
  3. Herpes
  4. Chancroid
  5. Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
  6. HIV Aids
  7. Gonorrhea
  8. Trichomoniasis

Symptoms of STD in women

Some symptoms that prevail during the initial stages of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in women are

  1. Pressure felt in the stomach region.
  2. Burning or itching felt in the genital areas along with smelly vaginal discharge.
  3. Influenza and fever.
  4. Swelling in Lymph nodes.
